Learning From Lincoln

Participants in this course will explore how Lincoln’s leadership practices and behaviors provide compelling guidance for today’s challenges of accountability, communication, conflict, team building, climate and economic hardship. Participants will leave the session with a repertoire of strategies and insights that they can apply immediately in their own workplace contexts.

This full-day academy includes: 

  • The book, Learning From Lincoln, will be provided.
  • There are three academies available, each covering three chapters of the book. The first academy (chapters 1-3) focuses on creating a shared vision, communicating in the age of social media and team building. The second academy (chapters 4-6) centers on establishing trust, strengthening emotional intelligence and managing change. The third academy (chapters 7-9) deals with personal learning styles, connecting with people and leadership resilience.
  • Scenarios reflective of issues districts are facing today will be adapted into the presentation and discussion.
  • 6.5 hours of credit for each participant.
