ISBE Partnership

Illinois ASBO maintains a close relationship with ISBE through the Alliance. There is an ISBE Liaison who attends Illinois ASBO board meetings and gives updates at DAA meetings. Illinois ASBO’s Deputy Executive Director/COO takes part in an advisory group that helps ISBE create rules for professional development and licensure requirements.

Benefit to Illinois ASBO Members
  • Illinois ASBO has a voice into how new laws are implemented and other process issues.
  • Education for members on funding and budget-related issues through liaison relationships.
  • EBM/ESSA implementation and resource sharing: Two Illinois ASBO members are on the EBF Professional Review Panel.
  • ISBE speakers, including the State Superintendent, are regularly utilized at Illinois ASBO conferences on a variety of topics.
