Illinois ASBO is partnering with the Illinois Principals Association (IPA) to deliver online professional development! Stay relevant and keep up your license through a selection of convenient online academies, specifically identified as relevant to school business professionals.

Online academies offer the opportunity to get administrator academy credit without having to leave the district. Lasting 3 hours, plus additional pre- and post-academy work, IPA’s online academies gives busy administrators a great way to get their annual administrator academy credit. The academies will include pre-and post homework, so watch your registration for additional details.

How often do you feel like you're able to truly be authentically you to your fullest extent? So often we view life through a deficit mindset, unknowingly constricting ourselves and the potential not only of ourselves, but those that we lead and the organizations we run. A focus on doing what we believe is right, rather than the dogmatic focus on being right, allow us to lead and live from a place of abundance and ultimately become the best versions of ourselves.

IPA will deliver this ONLINE training through Zoom. To participate in the virtual workshop, you must have Internet access, a web camera, and a microphone.

You will receive the Zoom training link, handouts and detailed instructions in the registration confirmation from netforum@ilprincipals.org. If you don’t see the confirmation in your inbox after registering, please email workshops@ilprincipals.org.

This academy addresses a topic that we often don't talk about in leadership circles: leading during challenging times. You might be thinking, "Being a school leader is always challenging" - and you are right! However, we also know that there are certain incidents that elevate people's emotions, require a great deal of our time, and potentially derail student learning and regular school business. Those are the challenging times we will discuss in this academy.

Participants will identify challenging times, understand the emotional impact on various stakeholders, learn effective response strategies as well as ways to be proactive, identify when and how to involve various stakeholders, and reflect on their own leadership strengths and potential growth areas. Understanding common challenges and developing plans and skills will help leaders build resilience and successfully lead their schools through even the most challenging of times.

Keep checking Illinois ASBO’s event listings for more relevant online offerings throughout the year. Registration will take place through the IPA website.
