Join your colleagues for the Facilities Operations Program: Essentials of Grounds and Custodial Operations seminar! 

Facilities Management has changed dramatically over the years to include a wide range of responsibilities – from custodial, maintenance and grounds to legal issues, long-range planning, emergency management and much more.

The Facilities Operations Program provides a new, consistent standard for the development of high quality school facilities professionals. The knowledge base lays the groundwork of what a facility professional needs to know to succeed in their chosen field.

Essentials of Grounds Operations

Effective grounds management requires organization, balancing demands, overcoming obstacles and encouraging growth within your team. Get insights into these challenges, then learn about key topics including tree and shrub care, building and maintaining a lawn and caring for bituminous paving.

Essentials of Custodial Operations

Get insights on how to organize your custodial operations, then dive into the specifics of each topic area. Learn about area cleaning programs for specific rooms within the school building and the procedures and services required inside and outside the facility. Review equipment and supplies needed for your operation and maintenance considerations.

*All courses require the purchase of Good School Maintenance Book as a prerequisite for participation. For those of you that don't already have it, the manual is available for purchase during registration.

Schedule:

7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. - Registration & Refreshments

8 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Program 

11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Lunch (provided)

Due to changes in the Illinois State Board of Education professional development requirements, please be advised that you will be required to sign and out or scan in and out to all professional development opportunities in which credits are offered. Each attendee will also be required to fill out an evaluation summary in order to receive credits.

Cancelation Policy:

For a full refund, you must call or email Illinois ASBO seventy-two (72) hours in advance of the event. Illinois ASBO event cancellation policies are subject to change. For event specific cancellation policy, please refer to the event’s registration informational page for more details. Illinois ASBO Members: Student Premiers and Add-On Memberships will be responsible for the full Illinois ASBO Member Fee if you are a “No Show.” Others will not be refunded and/or will still be invoiced and responsible for the charges. Transfers of event registrations will carry a fee of $25 for members and $50 for nonmembers and will be invoiced at the time of transfer.
